List of the props (8.00 / 1)
Brian, your brevity indicates you're posting by phone. As a public service, here's the verbose version of what I believe you said. Please correct if this isn't a correct rendering of what the committee is recommending to the floor:

Safe, Reliable High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act for the 21st Century. YES

Treatment of Farm Animals. YES

Children's Hospital Bond Act. YES

Waiting Period and Parental Notification Before Termination of Minor's Pregnancy. NO

Nonviolent Offenders. Sentencing, Parole and Rehabilitation. YES

Criminal Penalties and Laws. Public Safety Funding. NO

Renewable Energy. NO

Limit on Marriage. NO

Criminal Justice System. Victims' Rights. Parole. NO POSITION

Bonds. Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy. YES

Redistricting. NO

Vote of the E-Board on the Props (0.00 / 0)
I just got word that the E-Board went with the Resolutions Committee recommendations, above, with two exceptions:

Criminal Justice System. Victims' Rights. Parole. NO

Bonds. Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy. NO POSITION

Good to hear the NO on redistricting (0.00 / 0)
It's a ridiculous proposal designed to try and give Republicans an artificial advantage they have not earned from voters.

And of course good to hear the Yes on HSR.

You can check out any time you like but you can never leave

Renewable Energy (0.00 / 0)
I hope the committee did not recommend a no vote on the solar and renewable energy initiative.  It is time we lead the nation in clean energy.  Gases prices and energy costs are hitting us all hard and we aren't going to get lower prices by asking OPEC nicely.  Add to that the climate change we are facing  and it is about time we act.
I am glad they are giving the voters a say in November because we aren't helpless and we want to do our part.  The solar and clean energy bill is step in the right direction.  We all know this is not going to pass easily, the energy industry is already out with their attacks and buying up support left and right.  We can't let them divide us on this and set us back another decade or more.
I hope the Dems stepped up to the plate on this, I would like to see some action on climate change in my liftime.

the recommendations (0.00 / 0)
The Resolutions Committee recommended "No" on the Renewable Energy prop and "Yes" on the Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy bond. The e-board affirmed the former and decided to take No Position on the latter.

From what I understand, the reason behind the "No" vote was that it was felt it was a well-intentioned but very flawed proposition. The groups urging a "No" vote on this initiative include the Natural Resources Defense Council, the California League of Conservation Voters, and the Union of Concerned Scientists.

I haven't read the initiative myself, but when these groups come out against an energy initiative, I'm inclined to take notice.
