Oh, and then there&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfweekly.com\/2009-09-09\/news\/the-wrong-stuff\/1\">SF Weekly article sort of ripping him to shreds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But all is not lost for the dashingly slick mayor of the City of St. Francis. He&#8217;s getting some big time help. From a press release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>San Francisco, CA &#8211; Former President Bill Clinton and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will participate in two events together in Los<br \/>\n<br \/>Angeles on October 5, the Newsom for California campaign announced today. One event will be a fundraiser to benefit the Mayor&#8217;s primary<br \/>\n<br \/>campaign for governor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;President Clinton&#8217;s record of achievement as president and as a senior statesman is inspiring to all Democrats,&#8221; said Newsom. &#8220;I am truly honored that he will join me in October.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If there is one thing that the Big Dog can do, other than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2009\/US\/08\/05\/nkorea.journalists\/\">rescue reporters<\/a>, it is raise money.
