The San Francisco protest is one of six actions statewide as part of the nationwide &#8220;Big Insurance: Sick of It&#8221; day of action. Doctors and health care providers will join people who have been denied care or dropped by Anthem Blue Cross and other major insurance providers, and a representative speaking on behalf of Healthy San Francisco as a working model for health reform. <\/p>\n<p>Here is the information for the rallies in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unionvoice.org\/calaborfed\/notice-description.tcl?newsletter_id=27706132\">Los Angeles and San Francisco<\/a>. There is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/story\/2009\/9\/18\/783944\/-untitled-diary\">an event in Orange County<\/a> as well. I believe there are others, but couldn&#8217;t readily find details. If you have them, put them in the comments and we&#8217;ll move links into the body of this post ASAP.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Some folks from Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles produced a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mydoctormyway.com\/imagine_my_doctor_my_way.html\">web video in support of health care<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Some Gavin Newsom News. &nbsp;First, <a href=\"http:\/\/sfist.com\/2009\/09\/18\/newsom_you_are_the_father_baby_mont.php\">congratulations on the birth of Montana Tessa Newsom<\/a>, but just because they had a baby, that doesn&#8217;t mean there&#8217;s time to quit tweeting. &nbsp;He&#8217;s having a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gavinnewsom.com\/our_blog\/newsom_twitter_talks\/\">&#8220;Twitter Talk&#8221; tomorrow at 12:45<\/a>. Just watch @gavinnewsom. &nbsp;And on Wednesday evening, they&#8217;ll be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gavinnewsom.com\/events#online_video_town_hall\">U-Streaming a town hall<\/a>. &nbsp;No rest in the Newsom house, Montana better start carrying her own weight, pronto!<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Steve Lopez has an interesting column on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/local\/la-me-lopez20-2009sep20,0,230033,full.column\">Steve Spencer<\/a>, a Reagan advisor for his campaigns for Governor and President. &nbsp;Mr. Spencer is apparently &nbsp;something of a centrist, and would like to do all the typical moderate stuff&#8230;like redistricting and the like. &nbsp;I (Brian) appreciate his desire to see a better tone in politics, however, the redistricting canard still ignores the self-sorting that has gone on for over 40 years. Redistricting simply isn&#8217;t that great of a solution as the moderates would like it to be.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 As the fight over a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidebayarea.com\/news\/ci_13368891\">massive Indian casino along the San Francisco Bay in Richmond<\/a> rages on, the Wall Street Journal reports that the Obama administration might make it easier to <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB125349029322126449.html#mod=todays_us_page_one\">build these casinos away from traditional reservations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Capay Valley, which includes the big Cache Creek Casino, is working towards <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/topstories\/story\/2196873.html?mi_rss=Top%20Stories\">becoming a net energy exporter<\/a>.
