The election is largely based in the labor movement, not surprising considering that most of the voters are union members or retirees.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Sen. Rod Wright (D-Inglewood?) has been caught up in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/local\/la-me-wright28-2009sep28,0,7993045.story?track=rss\">controversy surrounding his residency<\/a>. Under California law, the legislator is required to live in the district at the election, but is not required to stay there. It&#8217;s not clear if he is living in the district now, but the relevant question for the law is his election-time residency status.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Lots of stories on the GOP <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calbuzz.com\/2009\/09\/gop-confab-the-monday-morning-quarterbacks\/\">semi-annual convention in Indian Wells<\/a>.
