Meanwhile, Arnold is doing everything he can to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/topstories\/story\/2322302.html?mi_rss=Top%20Stories\">explain away the $11.1 Billion pricetag of the bonds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 While the initiative system is clearly causing some problems, the Center for Gov. Studies has an interesting point that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibabuzz.com\/politics\/2009\/11\/12\/legislature-source-of-most-costly-ballot-measures\/\">most of the expensive ones come from the Legislature<\/a>. Also of note, the most expensive measure to pass since the late 1980s? Yup, Arnold&#8217;s Prop 49 for after school programs. &nbsp;Not that it&#8217;s not a worthy program, but on occasion, you have to quote the famous philospher Pogo: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.igopogo.com\/we_have_met.htm\">We have met the enemy&#8230;and he is us<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/static\/weblogs\/capitolalertlatest\/027026.html?mi_rss=Capitol%20Alert\">Whitman and Poizner campaigns are spitting back and forth<\/a> about who responded or didn&#8217;t respond to calls for debates. It&#8217;s a fascinating issue for the electorate, I&#8217;m sure.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Joel Anderson <a href=\"http:\/\/www.signonsandiego.com\/news\/2009\/nov\/13\/assembly-member-has-given-back-donations\/\">gave back $100,000 at the heart of an FPPC investigation<\/a> into whether Anderson laundered money improperly though the Placer County Republican Party Central Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Milken Institute released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.milkeninstitute.org\/pdf\/bpc2009.pdf\">their rankings for business climates (PDF)<\/a>.
