There are six finalists, <a href=\"http:\/\/publicoptionplease.com\/campaign-art-contest\/vote-for-the-public-choice-award\/\">vote now!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/carper-reinvents-the-trigger\/\">Jon Walker writes<\/a> that &#8220;it seems [Senator Thomas] Carper [D-DE] has completely reinvented (cribbed? copied?) Snowe&#8217;s trigger proposal, and must be hoping no one notices.&#8221; &nbsp;Whoops, we noticed! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>3. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/cbs-poll-majority-americans-want-a-bill-with-a-public-option\/\">Jon Walker writes about<\/a> a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/blogs\/2009\/11\/17\/politics\/politicalhotsheet\/entry5687505.shtml\">CBS News poll<\/a> which &#8220;found that a majority of Americans (51%) want Congress to pass a health care bill with a public option.&#8221; Only 26% of Americans prefer &#8220;no bill at all,&#8221; while an even smaller share (16%) would like a health care bill without a public option. Part of that 16%, of course, is Joe Lieberman, who is <a href=\"http:\/\/myleftnutmeg.com\/diary\/12017\/senator-lieberman-what-is-it-that-your-conscience-tells-you\">now being asked by &#8220;Concerned Clergy of Connecticut&#8221;<\/a>, &#8220;what is it that your conscience tells you?&#8221; &nbsp;A scary thought, indeed.<\/p>\n<p>4. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/women-get-realistic-about-your-uteruses\/\">Jane Hamsher urges women<\/a> to &#8220;get realistic about your uteruses.&#8221; I think I&#8217;ll just <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/women-get-realistic-about-your-uteruses\/\">let Jane explain this one<\/a>. LOL.<\/p>\n<p>5. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/the-capps-ellsworth-stupak-and-senate-finance-language-on-abortion\/\">Jon Walker analyzes<\/a> the Capps, Ellsworth, Stupak, and Senate Finance language on abortion.<\/p>\n<p>6. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/ben-nelson-unlikely-to-block-motion-to-proceed-fears-reconciliation\/\">Jon Walker says<\/a> that &#8220;Ben Nelson is <a href=\"http:\/\/journalstar.com\/news\/local\/article_9e11d3da-d474-11de-8d10-001cc4c002e0.html\">unlikely to block allowing debate to proceed<\/a> on health care reform&#8221; because &#8211; get this &#8211; he fears that if he doesn&#8217;t, the legislation would move ahead under reconcilation and turn out less &#8220;moderate&#8221; (e.g., more progressive) than he and his pal Joe Lieberman would prefer. And that would be a bad thing, apparently. Got it.<\/p>\n<p>7. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/senate-health-care-bill-to-be-unveiled-tomorrow\/\">Jon Walker writes<\/a> that the Senate health care bill, at long last, will be unveiled tonight, with a vote possible on the motion to proceed as early as Saturday night. Of course, as Walker points out, &#8220;allowing a bill to be debated on the Senate floor is a long way from allowing the final up-or-down vote needed to pass the bill out of the Senate.&#8221; Hey, after decades of waiting, why rush this thing? (snark)<\/p>\n<p>8. <a href=\"http:\/\/fdlaction.firedoglake.com\/2009\/11\/18\/kent-conrad-calls-blue-crossblue-shield-north-dakota-irresponsible\/\">I blog about<\/a> a story in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northdecoder.com\/index.php\/Blue-Cross-Wants-More-Money.html\">North Decoder<\/a> on Kent &#8220;Coop&#8221; Conrad calling Blue Cross\/Blue Shield of North Dakota &#8220;irresponsible&#8221; for a mailing it did on health care reform. What&#8217;s hilarious is that Conrad has been the biggest proponent of health care cooperatives, yet that&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/08\/18\/health\/policy\/18plan.html\">exactly what &#8220;irresponsible&#8221; BCBS of North Dakota hopes to be<\/a> under federal legislation.
