From the Chronicle&#8217;s Carla Marinucci:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger stopped by The Chronicle this week and made it clear his future is wide open.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he has taken a position to &#8221;never again&#8221; run for political office, the Republican governor told us that if he can finish the job by delivering on tough issues like the state budget, the water supply and then environment, then &#8221;I think I can do anything I want.&#8221; (<a href=http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/blogs\/nov05election\/detail?blogid=14&#038;entry_id=37575>SF Gate 3\/27\/09<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Really, you think? &nbsp;You think if you solve every intractable problem in California, people will support you? &nbsp;Good call, Mr. Schwarzenegger. And if you discover the path to cold fusion, I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;ll just go ahead and crown you Emperor.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he repeated his statement that he has no intention of either leaving the Republican Party or running for Sen. Boxer&#8217;s Senate seat in 2010. To me, if it looks like he&#8217;s angling for anything, it&#8217;s some sort of eco-job in the Obama administration. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure what he really has in mind, as he&#8217;s not really the nuts-and-bolts policy wonk type.
