{"id":8761,"date":"2009-05-05T04:30:00","date_gmt":"2009-05-05T04:30:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-05-05T03:25:36","modified_gmt":"2009-05-05T03:25:36","slug":"may-4-open-thread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/calitics.com\/index.php\/2009\/05\/05\/may-4-open-thread\/","title":{"rendered":"May 4 Open Thread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve been focused on the Special today, but there&#8217;s other news from around the state:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Joel Kotkin, one of the many Chamber friends in the media, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/2009\/04\/27\/worst-cities-jobs-opinions-columnists-employment-opportunities.html\">doesn&#8217;t like AB 32<\/a>, calling it a &#8220;draconian Assembly bill aimed to offset global warming by capping greenhouse gas emissions&#8211;a measure that seems designed to discourage productive industry.&#8221; Apparently Mr. Kotkin hasn&#8217;t seen or heard any of Al Gore&#8217;s work, or looked around the world for a while.
