Incidentally, no other Republican has signed up for the race. However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/calitics.com\/diary\/8888\/outlook-for-the-california-state-legislature-in-2010-may-2009-special-election-edition\">stats for a possible pickup<\/a> in this seat are solid. Registration is only at a 1% Republican advantage, and Obama won by over 4 points.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/breakingnews\/ci_12771005\">new poll shows over 70% support<\/a> for a tobacco tax of $1.50 per pack.
