Apparently, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2009\/07\/15\/DDR818MKSU.DTL&#038;feed=rss.lgarchik\">Leah Garchik said that eMeg blamed her support of inequality on her Catholicism<\/a> &nbsp;but then Tucker Bounds, her spokesperson, and McCain&#8217;s designated punching bag, said that she <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/blogs\/nov05election\/detail?blogid=14&#038;entry_id=43755\">is, in fact, a Presbyterian<\/a>. In the meantime, Carla Marinucci wrote a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?hl=en&#038;client=firefox-a&#038;rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&#038;hs=PXw&#038;q=Is+GOP+candidate+Meg+Whitman+a+buffet+Catholic%3F&#038;aq=f&#038;oq=&#038;aqi=\">blog post about it<\/a>, and then pulled it down. &nbsp;On the other hand, <a href=\"http:\/\/sfappeal.com\/culture\/2009\/07\/see-spot-write-meg-whitman-catholicism-and-me.php\">Beth Spotswood&#8217;s hilarious post on the subject is still up<\/a>. &nbsp;Completely factually accurate it may not be, but it is loaded with truthiness.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Today&#8217;s news from the Labor Department of another 66,500 jobs lost in June brings us to a situation where <a href=\"http:\/\/californiabudgetbites.org\/2009\/07\/17\/four-years-of-job-gains-erased-in-two-years\/\">we have lost the entire amount of jobs in the 2003-2007 economic expansion<\/a> in just the two years since.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Teabaggers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mydesert.com\/article\/20090717\/NEWS01\/90717017\/About-100-protesters-outside-Bono-Mack-s-office\">continue to pester Mary Bono Mack<\/a> over her vote for the Waxman-Markey climate and energy bill. &nbsp;Between that and Steve Pougnet&#8217;s strong Democratic challenge, she&#8217;s being squeezed from both sides.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Speaking of <strike>teabaggers<\/strike> racists, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercedsunstar.com\/167\/story\/955392.html\">this city councilman<\/a> from Atwater has been sending out inflammatory emails defaming President Obama and the First Lady in racially offensive language for months. &nbsp;And when questioned about it, he failed to express regret or even really account for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The other major BART union <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2009\/07\/16\/BANC18QEM3.DTL\">rejected the contract offer<\/a>, so it looks like they&#8217;re going back to the bargaining table. For now, no strike is planned, and the unions say they would provide plenty of notice before any action.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 It&#8217;s the home buying season. Prices and sales are up slightly in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/c\/a\/2009\/07\/16\/MNBM18PVCF.DTL\">the Bay Area<\/a>, but down in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/business\/story\/2033127.html?mi_rss=Business\">Sacramento<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Is the prison guard union <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/static\/weblogs\/the_state_worker\/2009\/07\/ccpoa-reportedly-moving-toward.html?mi_atom=The%20State%20Worker\">considering a strike vote<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 UCSD got <a href=\"http:\/\/www3.signonsandiego.com\/stories\/2009\/jul\/16\/bn16hacker-ucsd-hotline\/?metro\">hacked, causing quite the worry among possible victims<\/a>.
