Over at the Bee, they have some remarks from Arnold’s appearance at the Sacramento Press Club.  Unsuprisingly, he’s still pushing his furlough plan. The alternative he gives the state workers? Their jobs of course:

“To me, labor has the choice, and I made this very clear: They can help us make the decision in how we can save the ($1.3 billion),” Schwarzenegger said at the Sacramento Press Club. “So our recommendation was furloughs, where everyone takes a haircut rather than laying people off. That’s the last thing I want to do, is lay people off. So it’s their decision.” (SacBee 1/28/09)

Of course, the state’s workers have to make tough decisions why the Republicans do nothing of the sort. Life must be good over on that side of the ailse, they get to torment California’s workers who actually work every day to help the state, and they get to showboat for John and Ken.

Nice life if you can get it, just don’t expect to have a working state when you need it.
