Many thanks to D-Day for sending me the Assembly votes, I quickly threw together some HTML to put all the assembly budget votes into a grid: http://www.jamesarmstrong.com/CAbudget.html.
After doing that, I decided to crawl the state legislature site to see if I could do the same with the senate votes; here is the Senate voting grid.
It’s fairly basic, I’ll admit, but the data is there. Any mistakes are mine.
Good job on the grids.
The next job is to figure out what the important votes were. I haven’t done serious statistical work in a very, very long time. But it looks to me that we could come up with a sort of “courage index” to show who bucked the leadership on the correct votes.
Anybody have ideas as to best construct such a metric?
