I am so frustrated these days with the continuing debacle in Iraq. So many American troops and Iraqi civilians lost – and for what? As a “Christian” it amazes me that George Bush can sleep at night.
But my frustration over the propsect of Hillary Clinton becoming our nominee frustrates me as well. If she is indeed nominated, the entire election will be about Rose Law Firm billing records, Travelgate, Whitewater, Vince Foster, the $100,000.00 cattle futures deal and the list goes on. Congressman Henry Waxman has even subpoenaed to obtain all records regarding Bill Clinton’s Office of Political Affairs while he was president and God knows what is in there about Hillary. The bottom line is that she has way too much baggage to be our nominee and the entire 2008 election, if she is our nominee, will be about the past. And we all know you can’t win a presidential election talking about the past.
My biggest beef with her was her vote authorizing the war in the first place. Clinton even voted against the Byrd Ammendment, the Levin Ammendment and the Durbin Ammendment, all of which tried to slow the rush to war. And now with her recent vote on Iran, she wants to lead us back down the road into another mess.
Obama is the only credible candidate who publicly came out against the war prior to the authorization vote. And he is the only candidate who displays the type of judgment we need in a candidate.
