I originally posted this story over at DailyKos, but it got lost in the shuffle, and I was asked to post it here too.  So here it is.  Hopefully someone here can contact someone working with Angelides’ people to let them know about this.  Why doesn’t the media know about these ties?

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Communications Director is one Adam Mendelsohn.  Here’s an interview with Adam from FlashReport, wherein Adam bashes blogs like DailyKos due to our anonymity.

There absolutely is a distinction between anonymous blogs and honest blogs, such as the FlashReport.  Because this site is concerned about it’s [sic] credibility and discriminates what it posts, it holds itself to a certain standard, and this is why it has become so popular.  Anonymous sites are not credible and have little impact.

But that’s not what drew my attention.  Look at his résumé.  He was a vice president of DCI Group.  Follow me below the fold for more on this connection.

So what exactly is DCI Group?  I’ve written extensively about them before, but let’s recap.  DCI Group is a top Republican lobbying firm tied to the hip with ExxonMobil, producing groups such as Tech Central Station, masquerading as a “science” network, when all it is is a collection of paid off scientists that deny and mock the existence of global warming.  In the 1990s, DCI Group was responsible for working with the tobacco companies to deny claims of health problems and cancer associated with smoking.  Yes, that’s what they did before public opinion and medical studies finally won over the American public.  So they moved on to deny global warming at the behest of the oil companies.

Many of you will also remember DCI Group was responsible for putting forth that YouTube video of Al Gore as a penguin, mocking his documentary An Inconvenient Truth, and pretending it came from a random guy living in his mother’s basement.

So, getting back to Mendelsohn.  This was what he did for DCI Group as a Vice President of the company.

Partnered with DCI Group to start a communications firm specializing in corporate earned media campaigns.  After 27 months, company is now at staff of fourteen.  Currently manage and oversee all day-to-day operations.

And now he’s working with Arnold as his Communications Director.  How can we trust Arnold’s supposedly pro-environment bonafides when he has this global warming denying shill working for him?  Someone needs to ask why Arnold hired Mendelsohn in the first place.  Will any reporter out there ask the tough questions of the Governator?
