Honesty, integrity, and fairness. Those are the three essential qualities that make an excellent judge and these key characteristics are why I am running for Superior Court Judge in Santa Cruz County.
The wide range of experience and expertise that I have gained in seven years practicing criminal law and 22 years of civil law makes me uniquely qualified to bring these essential qualities to the bench.
During my long legal career in Santa Cruz County I have represented people from all walks of life. Whether they were rich or poor, people with special gifts or people facing the challenges of disabilities, consumers or businesses, people charged with crimes or the victims of crime, I listened, learned, and gained the experience that has taught me what it takes to be a great judge.
I have also been the victim of an assault and burglary myself. So, I know firsthand the importance of a fair, efficient, and effective criminal justice system.
Even though the election is in June 2010 I am already working hard to build support for my campaign. Every day I am meeting with respected community leaders from throughout Santa Cruz County to learn what issues are important to them and what they value in their judges.

Our community has given me so much to be grateful for: my wonderful wife of 25 years, three terrific children, two jobs in the legal community, and many rewarding relationships with my friends and clients.
If elected, I will continue to listen, learn, and put my experience to work making sure that all voices are heard inside the courtroom, and that justice is always applied in a fair and impartial manner.

John Gallagher is a disappointment to the legal system, he makes decisions emotionally not legally. His courtrooms are a joke and I understand why they have banned him to the basement over seeing joke cases. He does not uphold the law, he judges on whims and his own righteousness.
