• We’ll see how this electronic trading market in IOUs gets off the ground. The yield is so pitiful, lower than a short-term CD, that I can’t see a lot of investors wanting them. It is safe money, however, so maybe people can get cash for them.

• Sorry, Loretta Sanchez: the FEC says that you cannot use campaign money on clothing.
• Harold Meyerson writes about the warehouse worker’s campaign against Wal-Mart and other big retailers in the Inland Empire. Good for them for using whatever means necessary to protect their employee rights.
She is truly amazing. I understand Maxine Waters, who represents and area of L.A. that has been so ignored by the liberals in terms of services and everything else that they actually believe her shenanigans are competency. Maxine had a great run in with Geithner over Goldman Sach’s role in sunspots, it is on youtube.
I get Pelosi, who is a complete Marin County progressive with no medulla.
But boxer is a senator from california. I expect at least the verve and moxy of a feinstein. But with boxer, all you have is a grandee who loves to patronize the little people, which include the military (please call me senator) and the blacks (here is a report from the NAACP you little black man who dares to disagree with me).
Unfortunately, the state of california is a one party state and we pay for it in the budget and the quality our our idiot senator.

I diaried the accusation of racism against Boxer a little bit ago, and fleshed out some more details on DailyKos, especially about Alford’s past in parroting other right-wing claims.
And he DOES claim to speak for the African-American community, which makes what Boxer did perfectly legitimate IMO.
