EMERGE AMERICA HOLDS LUNCHEON TO SUPPORT FEMALE CANDIDATES

Please join Emerge America as it presents its second annual Celebrating Women Trailblazers luncheon,October 3rd, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

This event, with Attorneys General Kamala Harris (California) and Catherine Cortez Masto (Nevada) serving as honorary co-chairs, will feature a keynote address from former U.S. Ambassador and Governor Madeleine Kunin, author of “The New Feminist Agenda: Defining the Next Revolution for Women, Work and Family”. Ambassador Kunin’s book tackles the tough question: Feminists opened up thousands of doors in the 1960s and 1970s, but decades later, are U.S. women where they thought they’d be? The answer is a resounding no. Women have made strides in higher education and in the workforce, but family support and gender equity in pay and political representation remain elusive. Looking back over five decades of advocacy, Kunin analyzes where progress stalled, examines the successes of other countries, and charts the course for the next feminist revolution-one that mobilizes women, and men, to call for the kind of government and workplace policies that can improve the lives of women and strengthen their families.

Emerge America will also honor members of the Emerge community whose goal is to build the pipeline of Democratic women elected across the nation.
