The Internet and the 2008 Presidential Campaign

Over at the SFGate political blog, Paul Feist has a post on the new website techPresident and the tracking of candidate’s myspace support. In the comments, some weirdo whined, “Well, we are in for a lot of meaningless reporting on cyber politcs from people who aren’t part of it.”

Which is ironic, because techPresident was incubated at PDF which hosts the conference on the internet and technology. Contributors include people who train cyber politics professionals as well as an all-star cast from both sides of the aisle.

I would counter that techPresident is precisely the sort of place journalists should turn to when seeking information on the Internet and presidential campaigns. Of course, I’m only a political internet consultant, so what do I know.
