The rest of the state probably won’t see $4 a gallon gas until Memorial Day or maybe till Labor Day. But in this case, the reason that gas costs $4.33 – $4.53 a gallon is because the station owner is a kick-ass economic activist.
But FYI of what is to come, there are a number of places in CA where gas is already almost $4 a gallon. Bob Oyster in the SF Chronicle story brings up a number of reasons why gas is higher. Why should a vertical monopoly be allowed?
