One thought on “Redistricting California (Part 3): State Assembly and BoE”

  1. San Bernardino county has had a population growth of 20% over the past decade and this thought exercise still dilutes us to LA county, Kern, and Riverside counties. I had a look at the hard numbers and I strongly disagree with the way the 58th, 62nd, and 38th were drawn. We have had significant population gains in Victorville, Rancho Cucamonga, and Ontario to draw more inclusive lines into the county. Pomona is a special case but I think it has sufficient population and demographic data to be folded in with Azusa, Claremont, Irwindale, La Verne on the LA County side. Moreno Valley has grown significantly on the Riverside county line and see no reason that they should possess Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, and Redlands. Same with Victorville to the north. Add in Apple Valley, and Hesperia, and Barstow and you have about 2/3 of the population numbers that you need.
