* The Nurses have apparently annoyed Queen Meg. Meg launched a website attacking CNA.

* Hey, I (Brian) am helping to organize the big Pride Breakfast for my local LGBT Democratic club here in San Francisco, the Alice B Toklas LGBT Democratic Club.  If you are in SF, I hope you will consider attending, you can buy tickets here.  I’m told some of our Democratic legislative leaders as well as most of the Democratic statewide ticket will be there.  And, it is right next to the beginning of the Pride parade at Yank Sing, so you can just leave the breakfast and you’ll be ready to go.  Email me if you have any questions.

*  Will there be more furlough Fridays?

* Ooh…CSU Stanislaus is going to let media to the Sarah Palin fundraiser.  Perhaps Calitics will send a delegation.

* Are you a CalPERS member? Well, if so…congratulations! You now own part of London Gatwick airport. As Robert suggests over at the California High Speed Rail Blog CalPERS should consider doing the same with the high speed rail project.

* During the June cycle, the California Democratic Party raised over $11.3 million. The California Republican Party raised $3.3 million.  Today, CRP chair Ron Nehring did a conference call with RNC chair Michael Steele to talk dollars. Coincidence? You decide.

* Ho-hum. Another day, another $20 million check from eMeg to her campaign.

* Brian FitzGerald. Don’t know the name? He looks set to be the GOP nominee for Insurance Commissioner, after not spending any money to defeat Mike Villines in the primary.  Sometimes less is more?

* CalBuzz and Tom Meyer on the Whitman-Fiorina “ticket”.

* No apology from Fiorina on the comments about Sen. Boxer’s hair. Stay classy Carly.

* Some staffing up in the swing SD-15 district special election. Calitics is a big, big, big fan of John Laird.  Give him money.

* And hey, it’s June 15 tomorrow, the date the budget is supposed to be wrapping up its legislative tour.  No chance on that one, but they did meet.

* Tax receipts beat expectations for May. However, given how bad the April receipts were, it will take years of this pace to catch up.

* The Feds have dropped the investigation into former Congressman John Doolittle. Doolittle is “thrilled.” Sure he is, he let Kevin Ring, his former staffer, take the hit, and he escaped with some legal bills and heartburn.

* Carly’s comments on Boxer’s hair have made the national news including the New York Times.

* Brian FitzGerald is still holding on to a small lead over Mike Villines. Brian FitzGerald you ask? Well, he was the benificiary of a lot of anger against Mike Villines in his run for Insurance Commissioner.  If FitzGerald holds on, he’ll have to start rolling up that nameID rapidly. Perhaps starting with GOP chair Ron Nehring.

* CalPERS is still mulling over asking for $700 million.
